In most business’s it takes money to make money. There is a lot of truth in this, even with affiliate marketing. Outside of the fact you have to pay the start up cost to become an associate in an affiliate marketing plan, there are all kinds of ways to drive business to your web site. There are of course some very expensive ways, but, I would like to focus on the affordable to help new marketers get a head start in the game.
One of the most affordable ways is to start a membership on a blog site, such as Blogger. It is in most cases free to do and there is a lot of information out there for you to read and learn outside of posting your own blogs. When posting a blog, be sure that you find at least three good keywords directly related to your subject. Use the words over and over again throughout your blog. I use Google keywords (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal) to help me develop a good feel for words that are more popular on web site hits. If you are familiar with a word spinner, use this to spin your blog 10 times to help you cover all angles and get more traffic to your blog site. The word spinner simply takes your blog, and spins the words, and actually reworks it to give you a similar writing without the hassle of rewording it. Then make sure you go to: http://pingomatic.com/, and use the free service to have the many different blog sites updated to your new blog. Another way to get traffic to your site is to leave meaningful comments on other blog posts. You can leave your blog information in the comments to send readers to your site.
E-mail marketing is an affordable marketing tool that can be well utilized to get your site accessible to the net. There are some low priced bulk e-mail sites you can get connected with. I use a couple now that have a one time cost that allow you to send every 24 hours. E-mail marketing is a very easy approach, but not as easy as you think it is in the sense of getting your e-mail read. There is a lot of good information on different blogs to help you with this, I will cover more in a later writing. Your subject line must be clever and get the readers attention if you want them to open it. You will need to place the ‘call to action’ or for short CTA in your e-mail so that the reader will know what they need to do. Your CTA must be easy to see, larger font, bold and even a different color. You must also be brief , a person reading your e-mail will not read it if it lengthy and boring. Be sure to use a lot of CTA points in your mailing, don’t save it for the end. Readers jump around a lot, and will not waste time on reading the e-mail if it is to long, and if they can’t find the link to your site easily. There is a lot of good reading on various blogs to help you with this.
Lastly, a great marketing tool is using PPC’s. These can be very affordable if you use Google Adwords or Yahoo. Again they are very easy to utilize, but you must be able to get the attention of the person surfing the internet by having an above average campaign. You must be able to draw the readers attention, give a short example of what they will find and a CTA once again. It is always important to have a ‘call to action’ in just about any campaign you use for marketing weather it be e-mail, or PPC. The reader needs to know that there is more to what they see by reading the CTA. Example: Get the full story here! You have very little room to write when using the PPC advertising, so use your words wisely.
Many marketers give up to soon when they don’t see the results they are looking for right away. For the greatest success, track your marketing to see where your best results are, and tweak the campaign to find your best out come. You must learn by trial and error and not expect to hit a home run the very first time you are up to bat. It is a learning game, be patient.
In short, there are many affordable tools to get a new affiliate marketer on the right track to a successful start. As your marketing campaign starts to take off, you can turn a portion of your profits back into marketing and use some of the more costly approaches like post cards or CPA’s. CPA’s are very expensive, but very rewarding. The only issue with this kind of marketing is that a CPA has high expectations of a marketer before they will except you, even if you have the money. There are other ways to market beyond what I have described here, but these are the best to get you started when working on a tight budget.
