5 step mindset to success

Being successful takes quite a few key ingredients that may vary in the minds of some. Does It take brains, or just common sense? Does it take money or just the strong desire to do better for yourself? It's a number of things, but that is not what this is about. The key ingredient overlooked is......attitude! You can have almost everything you need to succeed, but if you don't have the attitude to get there, you probably won't get there. How can you correct this problem? I'd like to outline this for you in my article.

Item number one, never say "I can't do that." In most cases when something is new to someone, they become scared of the challenge. Some people are afraid to start something new because they don't feel they can succeed. When the challenge of failure happens during the trial stages, some people say "that's it, I can't do this." When learning something new, failure is part of the learning curve. Your failures are actually lessons so you know what not to do again. Cross them off the list and try something else. Keep a positive outlook, and keep moving ahead, even when you have road blocks. You will catch on.

Item number two, never listen to what other people have to say unless it is truly useful information. Many people will try to pursued you to not better yourself because they don't want to be left behind. If they can keep you down to their level, they are much happier. You have to learn to overlook the negative critics. You must always keep the positive view of what you are doing in mind, not everyone will understand or agree with what you do. It doesn't matter. Letting other people pursued you to other paths outside your goals of success will never bring you to where you want to be. Don't let them bring you down, remember what drove you to the goals of success to begin with.

Item number three, curve negative thoughts from your life. It's hard to believe sometimes how hard it is to break old habits. As you grow older, you are programmed to think a certain way just by the way you are raised. It's like a smoker trying to quit smoking. Anyway, the point is, you start to think negative and have no control over this. You have to give yourself what I call a mental Enema. Flush the bad and negative ways of thinking out of your head, and start answering questions and thoughts with positive words. You may want to listen to positive thinking tapes or cd's to get this kind of thinking to stick with you. Even read books to help adjust your thinking process. Think of it this way, do you really enjoy hearing someone complaining about their life every time you see them? This can become habit, and every time you open your mouth all of this negative 'yuck' comes pouring out. How can you have any positive hopes or aspirations when you think like this? People will even enjoy your presence more if you are a positive person. Who do others look up to and ask questions when they are confused about something? You know it's not the negative person, it's the positive one, they are pleasant and inspiring.

Item number four, listen to people who inspire you. The kind of you like to be around and talk to, friends, business associates and acquaintances. Positive people will rub off on you. I was just around a person the other day that made me realize this. It was business lunch, and when everyone got together I asked the man hosting the lunch how are you doing? He replied "just excellent." Could you imagine if the reply would have been, "just terrible", or "I've seen better days." Would you really want to be there? This could have even started one of those I've got it worse conversations. Who wants to brag about having it worse, or even want to have it worse. Find the good in any situation, even if it's just a learning experience. My point is, if you are around people that carry a positive vibe, it will be contageous, and make you feel good. Even listening to positive music or positive thinking audio can be a good way to keep your thoughts in line.

Item number five, Keep your goals in mind. Think about the rewardsthat you want from your success. Picture the car, home or even the special trip you want to take. Keep moving forward with your goals. If you feel that you are straying, stop, and close your eyes. Picture the good things you want in your life that make you feel good. You will find it puts you back on track to your pathway to success.

Your attitude is everything, keep this positive mindset, and reach your goals with a smile on your face. You will always run into rough times, but remember to learn from these experiences, as this is why they happen. You can't succeed by doing nothing, your attitude is key!
